Thor College has had a unique Outdoor Educational Program since the year of its establishment in 1980. The 100-acre farm associated with the school on the Fourth Line of Innisfil provides an ideal setting for such a program. The children are very enthusiastic about the farm and are always eager to participate.

This program has significantly enhanced the education of all our students by giving them an opportunity, not just to learn, but to experience science, geography, history, health, and art.

The outdoor education program provides our students with hands-on experience with gardening, tree planting, small tools, and chores. They receive opportunities to develop leadership, teamwork skills, and responsibility. These programs have proven to be very positive and motivating. It has given many students another direction in which to excel. The self-confidence that is developed here contributes to the improvement of their academic studies. Thor’s Outdoor Educational Programs have given our students many opportunities to study real-life lessons, but the largest lesson that our students have learned is respect for nature, the environment, animals and their habitats.
