The teaching staff of Thor College assumes the responsibility of educating our students to their full potential. Routine assessment and reporting of the students’ progress improves self-esteem and stimulates students to achieve at a more advanced level. It also keeps parent(s)/guardian(s) abreast of accomplishments, or areas of concern.

Our students’ progress is carefully monitored and reported to the students and parents. Four formal reports (two interim reports and two report cards), September progress report, and monthly conversations help us to keep our parents informed of their student’s progress. In addition, three parent-teacher interviews are available, but teachers are available for discussions whenever concerns arise.

Another means of communication are the student agendas in which students write their homework requirements. Teachers sign these agendas and may place comments about the student’s work or other suggestions. Parents are asked to initial these agendas and add any comments or questions.

Parents are invited to all assemblies and special events throughout the year. They may also wish to join the Thor College Parents’ Association (TCPA) and enhance the students’ educational experience through volunteer work.
